Nowadays, more and more children play computer games. Why do you think this is the case? Is it a positive or negative development?
Playing
games
has always been one of the favourite children's leisure. Nowadays, due to technological improvements, computer games
have gained much popularity. The present essay will showcase the causes behind this
trend and demonstrate the reasons why this
is considered a negative development.
First
and foremost, the internet has enabled pupils to enjoy online games
with their friends. Indeed, this
innovation brought them entertainment and pleasure as they can unwind directly from their homes. Long hours spent on this
device is a result of computer addiction in teenagers. This
is because these leisures provide them with a thrill which an ordinary outdoor sport can not. The root cause of this
is the dopamine releases in these offspring's brains while they are obsessing over this
form of entertainment. For instance
, a recent study conducted in the US illustrated that any game that can produce even scant quantities of dopamine has the potential to make scions addict on a massive scale.
On the other hand
, this
trend significantly affects the mental health of young gamers. The reason for this
is the reduced time for social interaction with their peers. If the pupils continuously abuse the internet games
, they have very minimal time to physically interact with others of their age group. Consequently
, they grow up to be socially anxious humans who do not know how to carry out a basic conversation. Millennials, for example
, are extremely conscious of their behaviour while in public because they reportedly played video games
at an early age more than they should have. Therefore
, mental health is a prominent problem of the modern gaming culture.
To sum up, children nowadays are wasting their time and energy by playing computer games
. The main driving factor behind this
is that they are becoming increasingly dependent on the amusement provided by these games
. As such
, they are inarguably going to develop into socially awkward beings for the rest of their lives. Hence
, this
is surely a negative change.Submitted by Am.yahia96 on
