 from 2010 to 2017. Overall, the
number
 of people who visited the
island
 has grown significantly throughout the given period.
Although
 the majority preferred staying on an
island
 in 2010, the trend changed and those staying on cruise ships eventually outpaced the other type. According to the information, in 2010, only around 0.3
million
 tourists stayed on cruise ships, while over 0.7
million
 tourists stayed on the
island
. The former group
then
 increased to exactly 0.5
million
 people in 2011, but the figure remained constant in the latter one.
Moreover
, it can be seen that there was a steady increase in the
number
 of travellers who chose to hang out on cruise ships, up to 1.5
million
 people, and the
number
 remain unchanged until 2017, despite the drop in 2016.
On the other hand
, there was a slight decrease in the
number
 of
visitors
 who stayed on the
island
 in 2012, but the figure
then
 experienced a sharp rise throughout the following period, ending with over 2
million
visitors
.
In addition

although
 there was no growth in the total
number
 of
visitors
 between 2015 and 2016, the figure was added with approximately 2.5
million
 tourists over the course of 7 years.
