Some people believe that university students should focus on the skills of employment for the future. Others think they should focus on acadamic study only. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Universities
are one of the rare and greatest assets and they bring pride to the nation. Some people argue that
universities
should focus on the
skills
for
future
employment whereas others want it to be for academics. To start with, let us go with the idea of the
first
set of people. When we look at the world, there has been a lot of advancements that happened in the past few decades and survival
skills
are the top skill
that is
highly recommended nowadays. As
universities
play a major role in shaping up the
students
, it is absolute to teach
skills
for
future
employment. We do have a lot of courses offered in the
universities
but not all may really have a decent demand in the market.
Hence
, opting for any skill that helps
students
to survive in the market outside and that may help them to secure employment in
future
would be a wise idea. So learning and applying the
skills
practically really help. While others argue that
universities
should only offer academic studies which are basically a theory-oriented structure. Most of the
universities
are often designed to be
this
way.
However
, they are always being a peer to the
students
. Academic studies
also
offer a wide range of subjects where
students
can learn unlimited theories and have to apply those in the
future
practically. My opinion in
this
regard is that I go with the idea of the
first
set of people and the reason is that, theoretical knowledge is not sufficient to survive when they are in the job market.
Students
who have theoretical knowledge may face difficulties in the
future
, whereas educational institutions that offer practical
skills
will help
students
to cope up easily at work.

Support ideas with relevant, specific examples

Examples make your writing easier to understand by illustrating points more effectively.

Examples, if used properly, not only help you get higher marks for ‘Task Response’ but also for ‘Coherence’.

When giving examples it is best to put them after your main idea or topic sentence. They can be used in the middle of supporting sentences or they can be used to start a new sentence. There is no rule for where exactly to give examples in essays, logically they would come after your main idea/topic sentence or just after a supporting sentence.

Linking words for giving examples:

  • for example
  • for instance
  • to illustrate this
  • to give a clear example
  • such as
  • namely
  • to illustrate
  • take, for example
