Many people believe that social networking sites (such as Facebook) have a huge negative impact on both individuals and society. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It is argued that social networking
sites
, for ,instance Facebook, have a detrimental effect on individuals and society.
This
essay agrees with that suggestion completely because of the negative effects they bring to the pupils.
Firstly
, we will discuss how
such
sites
are wasting the time of an individual
then
we will look at how they are making people more secluded. With the current internet boom and the upgrade of mobile technology, social media have created a vital place in our life. At every step of the way individuals upload their pictures, update their location and personal information.
This
information is misused by organizations
such
as Facebook. Even though
data
privacy is promised, still
data
is shared and analyzed,
this
leads to
data
leaks.
For example
, in 2019 the spotlight was on Facebook for sharing profile information with an analysis company named
Data
Analytic, which resulted in a
data
leak of around 2 million users.
Moreover
, there are many reasons to believe that social networking
sites
have made humans secluded.
Firstly
, everyone is now comfortable with chatting over the site, which has reduced face-to-face interaction.
This
behaviour has
also
affected our society.
For example
, getting along with neighbours has become a difficult task, many avoid the social gathering etc.
Furthermore
, people are becoming more jealous of others lifestyles. They feel depressed and regretful. For an instance, a husband and wife had divorces just because the husband thoughts was inspired by someone’s lifestyle. In conclusion, for the betterment of the individual and society, a person should restrict their use of social networking
sites
and focus on real life.
