Schools are no longer nescessary because children can get so much information available through the internet, and they can study just well at home. To what extent do you agree or disagree.
The advancement of the
internet
brings significant changes in our life, especially in the area of education. Although
I agree that the internet
provides a lot of information
for studying, schools are still necessary for teaching children
. In this
essay, I will discuss the matter with relevant examples.
Admittedly, we can easily and instantly search information
for on any topic on the internet
, for example
, Wikipedia is a website including a myriad of factual information
on various topics. However
, there is also
a lot of false information
on the internet
that needs to be differentiated by the users. Since children
are still at a tender age and developmental stage, they do not have the ability to weep out the bad from the good. Therefore
, teachings in school are important for them to learn knowledge.
Other than the risks of false information
, there are some drawbacks to the use of the internet
in teaching youngsters. Distraction is one of the problems. Youngsters are easily attracted by other apps are installed on the computer, such
as social media apps, computer games, so they may not concentrate on their studies. It would be finally
led to poor academic results. Also
, using the internet
means that the youth require to sit in front of the computer screen for a long time every day. It leads to a sedentary lifestyle which may cause obesity and do not have much real-life interaction with their classmates. Thus
, the situation is detrimental to their well-being, both physical and emotional health.
In conclusion, although
the internet
can provide lots of useful information
for learning purposes, the disadvantages of false information
, sedentary and secluded lifestyle may affect the upbringing of children
. Therefore
, I totally disagree with the statement that schools are no longer necessary for children
