In some countries, owning a home rather than renting one is very important for people. Why might this be the case? Do you think this is a positive or negative situation?

In certain countries and cities, purchasing a flat is one of the most pressing ambitions many youngsters have, who do not want to live in a rented one for a long time, regardless of the high
price
. In
this
essay, I will examine the cause of the phenomenon, as well as explain why I perceive
this
as a negative situation. The major factor leading to the circumstance is the surprisingly high
price
of renting. Facing the situation where they should spend a
third
of their salaries on the rent, which could be even more costly years later, young
people
are spurred to own an apartment as soon as possible. An estate in China,
for instance
, has become more than a home or a shelter, which
also
ensures them a well-off living quality in the future.
Therefore
, the desire to buy a flat is becoming prevalent among youngsters in these countries. Some
people
have a positive view, believing that it helps youngsters save money.
However
, I have the opposite attitude. One of its disadvantages is that the mass demands of purchasing an estate will increase the
price
of buying and renting dramatically, which adds more financial burden. Apart from a higher
price
, the situation
also
widens the wealthy gap, which only impoverishes those who do not have many possessions at the beginning. While wealthy families view estates as investments and try their best to sell and rent them at higher prices, poorer
people
inevitably have to pay more money on housing. In conclusion,
although
the demand of owning rather than renting an estate is prevailing in some countries, I personally worry about the status quo. From my perspective, it brings more drawbacks than benefits, especially to
people
who are less rich.
