A friend you made while you were studying abroad has written to ask you for help in finding a job in your country. You have heard about a job in a local company that might be suitable for him/her. Write a letter to this friend. In your letter • tell your friend about the job and what sort of work it involves • say why you think the job would be suitable for him/her • explain how to apply for the job

Dear John, I am very glad that you have written a letter to me and I hope you are doing good. I really appreciate that you have trusted in me to help with your career advice. I have found a job that might be suitable for you well in the central of Bangkok, as a customer service. Since I have known you for years, you are an extremely talkative person and willing to help other people without any conditions. You are probably going well with
this
position. As a customer service, you have to receive calls or respond to any messages from social media in order to provide primary support and give needed advice to the customers. If you are interested in
this
position, you can send your resume or CV directly to the company’s email ([email protected]).
Lastly
, feel free to call me whether you have any questions. I look forward to meeting you soon. Lots of love, X

Structure your letter

A letter needs to be written using a proper format, including the following:

  • A greeting (Dear sir/madam, Dear John, Dear Mr. Smith)
  • The main body (consisting of paragraphs for each part of the letter)
  • A closing (Yours sincerely, Yours faithfully, Best wishes, Kind regards, Love)

When writing a letter as part of the IELTS General Training Writing Task 1, it is important to include the bullet points presented to you in the question.

All three bullet points need to be presented. And remember that some bullet points contain more than one element. So, make sure to watch for ‘and’ and plurals.
