Your local council is considering closing a sports and leisure centre that it runs, in order to save money. Write a letter to the local council. In your letter give details of how you and your friends or family use the centre explain why the sports and leisure centre is important for the local community describe the possible effects on local people if the centre closes

Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing
this
letter in connection with the recent news about ending the activities at the sports and leisure
centre
. Let me start by outlining its use by my family, which is mainly to spend some quality
time
together. In fact, my family and I use the
centre
on weekends to play sports,
such
as volleyball and soccer, with our children during our free
time
. During weekdays, I go to the
centre
to take yoga classes, while my husband plays basketball. Why the
centre
is of value for the community is that families can go there and spend
time
together without spending much money.
Furthermore
, the
centre
offers recreational activities for our children during holidays. Regards the outcomes of closing the
centre
, could be seen in terms of teenagers spending more
time
on the streets,
instead
of practising a sport at the
centre
. Another effect is that families that do not have conditions to pay for recreation might not be able to spend quality
time
together, as they would do at the
centre
. Thank you for your
time
and consideration. Yours faithfully, Christina Smith
