More and more people are moving from rural areas to cities in search of a better life, but city life has its own problems. What are these problems? Suggest some solutions
Nowadays, urbanization is
such
a common phenomenon , as a big percentage of people
are moving from the countryside to big cities
in pursuit of a higher quality of life. However
, there are many problems that have arisen in urban areas
. For this
reason, we should take some measures in order to tackle them and ensure a better standard of living.
While it is an undeniable fact that, in theory, large cities
should be able to provide a multitude of benefits for individuals, this
is becoming increasingly difficult in practice. First
and foremost, due to the high levels of air pollution in urban areas
, many people
are suffered from severe respiratory problems such
as asthma. Besides
that, extreme urbanization has also
burdened the citizens' transportation, since there is often traffic congestion ,especially in downtowns and as a consequence, people
are difficult to commute easily to their workplaces. Last
but not least, due to the high concentration of people
in urban areas
, not all citizens have equal access to high-quality hospital care
Taking everything into consideration, it is crucial to take drastic actions in order to improve the quality of life in big cities
. For instance
, we should start using public means of transportation such
as bikes and buses, since through them, not only we will make an effort to reduce traffic jams, but also
, we will make a significant contribution to environmental conservation. Moreover
, governments are responsible to give grants for building more equipped and contemporary hospitals so as to serve the largest number of patients.
In conclusion, despite the numerous opportunities that urban areas
offer to those seeking a better standard of living, the extreme urbanization made the attainment of such
a life progressively difficult. Nevertheless
, each and every one of us is responsible to take measures rapidly in order to create more sustainable cities
in the long term.Submitted by kristinouli.09 on
