Hope you are doing well. I am extremely grateful for your guidance that enabled me to land an interview with one of my dream companies to work as a digital marketer. I am writing this letter to ask you for further assistance, wondering if you are willing to write a letter of recommendation for me.
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to inform you that I had ordered a 1 TB Seagate hard
drive
from Amazon on Feb 12 and found the data cable missing in the shipment received today.
I had been eagerly waiting for the delivery as this
drive
was supposed to be a gift for my younger brother, who had recently enrolled himself for a graduation course in computers at IIT, as a token of appreciation for his hard work. Unfortunately, the cable required to run the drive
was not found in the package, and thus
, I was not able to pay my regards to my little sibling for his achievement.
I request you to kindly replace the incomplete product received with a new one, which has the data cable intact with the hard drive
at the earliest. My order details are INR2315G and I can be reached at my mobile, 9569248091, for any queries, if required.
Hoping for a quick response.
Regards,
Harmanpreet Singh

The Greeting
Depending on the style and aim of the letter, you will need to adapt your greeting.
Always start an informal letter in the ways:
- Dear + name
- Hi / Hello + name
‘Dear...’ is more appropriate, so stick with this.
For a formal letter there are two options for the greeting:
- Use Dear Sir or Madam if you don’t know the name of the person you are writing to.
- Use Dear + surname if you do know their name, e.g. Dear Mr Smith or Dear Mrs Jones.
