Some companies sponsor sports as a way to advertise themselves. Some people think it is good, while others think these are disadvantages to this. Discuss both sides and give your opinion.

Nowadays, big multinationals advertise their bands by sponsoring
sports
tournaments and even
sports
companies
. Globalcom premier league, Milo basketball tournaments as well as the Barclays premiership league are all instances of big
companies
sponsoring nation leagues and tournaments. While some posit that
this
is a beneficial idea, others opine that there are some demerits of these sponsorship
deals
in the light of some ethical and religious bases. I will in
this
essay discuss both of these views and opine that it is both advantageous and disadvantageous. Now to the merits of
sports
endorsement
deals
. These
deals
are big contracts, with billions of dollars changing hands. These investments increase the budgets of the different
sports
clubs
involved in the league or tournament, thereby increasing the quality of the game.
This
is because the
clubs
can now buy better players, renovate or upgrade their facilities, and even improve players' wages.
Also
, some
clubs
use these funds to develop grassroots
sports
. If not for these
deals
some
clubs
may not be able to do all of these.
On the contrary
, not all endorsement
deals
favour the club or
sports
in the long run.
For example
, if an alcoholic drink company like Guinness sponsor a tournament some people with religious biases may pull out from the game. A similar trend may occur if a pork manufacturer decided to sponsor a sport.
Therefore
, by the nature of the products of some multinationals, their sponsorship of some particular
sports
may ultimately lead to a decrease in the involvement and participation in the game, especially in a religious region. In conclusion, in as much as
sports
sponsorship, as a means of advertising by
companies
, is economically advantageous to both the investors and
sports
development, for some ethical and religious reasons, sponsorships by some
companies
, in some regions with religious prejudices, may not, in the long run, develop the sport.
