Dear Mr Smith, I am writing to your family regarding your ad about searching for a teacher of the Russian language for one year. My name is Ekaterina Shadenkova, I am a graduate of Saint-Petersburg University and I have been a teacher for 7 years now. I have 4 recommendation letters from the parents of my students, most of them aged 7-13. I love kids and absolutely adore my profession. I have always dreamed about travelling abroad, and I consider that the job you are offering could be a win-win for both sides.

Use a variety of complex and simple sentences

You should use complex sentences in your writing, but it does not mean that you should try to make all of our sentences complex.

‘Complex’ sentences are not actually very complex; they are just two or more simple sentences put together. Putting them together makes the essay more coherent and cohesive.

Examples:

I really want to study but I’m too tired.

I wore a warm coat because the weather was cold.

If action is not taken soon on climate change, global warming will get worse.
