The media pay too much attention to the lives and relationships of celebrities such as actors, singers or footballers. They should spend more time reporting the lives of ordinary people instead. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

In modern
life
, there is no doubt that social
media
pays too much
attention
to the private
life
of
celebrities
. It is believed that they need to spend more
time
finding out about the
lives
of ordinary
people
instead
. In my opinion, I strongly disagree about the fact that various types of
media
pay
attention
to the
lives
of eminent and ordinary
people
also
.
Firstly
, everyone has the right to have a private
life
, even
celebrities
. The
media
pay too much
attention
to their
lives
and relationships which are the thing that doesn't respect others.
This
is because the
media
including journalism and paparazzi
also
can make
celebrities
uncomfortable and feel insecure providing that the
media
annoys them.
In addition
, there are so many accidents that were related to stalking and focusing too much on their privacy.
For instance
, many celebs have problems with their mental health since they must face a lot of journalism every day. On the
second
thought, there are always exceptions. It seems that the stories of those who are not only well-known but
also
are constantly doing good deeds for societies in their daily
life
are appropriate and worth spreading for the sake of exemplifying the great sense of community.
Conversely
, that
celebrities
act badly would probably have a negative impact on common
people
.
However
, spending more
time
focusing on the
lives
of ordinary
people
is not a better choice for the
media
instead
of stalking
celebrities
. To be more precise, most
people
all over the world don't want to be significantly taken notice of. The main reason for
this
is that it is very unpleasant if they don't have a private
life
. What actually matters is that the
media
ought to pay
attention
to the
lives
of
celebrities
and ordinary
people
to some extent as long as they feel comfortable. After all, unknown persons should only be given screen
time
positively so that their fellow citizens can get motivated to continue working and contributing. In conclusion, I think the
media
should limit the focus on other
people
's private
lives
excessively and become more responsible as well as careful during the process of printing or broadcasting.
This
is not merely for a world where no one is uncomfortable with passive surveillance, but
also
for a better perspective in which no one will waste his/ her valuable
time
and money watching something
that is
not of any use.

Word Count

IELTS says that you should write a minimum of 250 words in writing task 2. If you go under word count you will lose marks in task response.

A very long essay will not give you a higher band score.

Aim for between 260 to 290 words in writing task 2. This will ensure a concise essay and will be realistic in terms of time management. You have only 40 minutes to write the essay and you need around 10 minutes of planning time, so you will not be able to write a long essay in 30 minutes.
