emission. Heating and water heating take up 42% and 32% of the total

consumption respectively. The amount of

remaining is mainly used for other appliances, at 15%, and refrigeration, at 7% while cooling and lighting are just 6% in total.
As a result
, water heating in a typical Australian household contributes significantly to greenhouse
gas
emissions, accounting for 32%. Even while heating is responsible for the most
energy
consumed, only 15% of the
gas
is released.
On the contrary
, the figure for other appliances and refrigeration are relatively high, at 28% and 14% each, compare to the percentage of
energy
they used.
Finally
, the emission caused by lighting is 8%, double the amount of
