You should spend about 20 minutes on this task. You have just read an article in a national newspapaer which claims that town centres in your country all look very similar to each other. You don’t fully agree with this opinion. • Write a letter to the editor of the newspapaer. In your letter • Say which points in the article you agree with • Explain ways in which your town centre is different from most other town centres • Offer to give a guided tour of your town to the writer of article. Dear Sir / Madam,
This
has reference to your article on “town centres” in Times of India on 15 July 2022. I am Raja from Ahmedabad Gujarat and writing to inform you about my disagreement on the similarity of city
centres in the entire country.
I fully agree that all the city
centres are crowded and dense traffic areas due to old design roads. Moreover
, all the shops are located in these areas and sell goods at quite a reasonable rate as compared to major shopping malls and supermarkets.
Kindly note that the town centre of Ahmedbad

has been renovated a few years back and equipped with modern amenities like potable water, toilets and a rest area. Moreover
, the roads are wider and regulated by traffic signals and hence
issues of chain snatching and pocket pickers have been controlled significantly. The town centre is being monitored by several CCTV cameras to keep a watch on all the activities.
I would be happy to accompany you and guide you if you could plan a visit to Ahmedabad city
centre.
I am looking forward for
your response.
Yours faithfully,
