Most people say that in order for one to be fluent in a language, they must live and work for sometime in that Country. Do you agree/disagree?

A large number of people believe that
language
fluency is dependent on having acquittance with the indigenes by way of living in that
country
. In as much as
this
could help in enhancing
one
's ability in speaking, in my opinion speaking in a different mother tongue can easily be learnt in other ways.
This
essay will discuss some of the ways.
Firstly
, staying in a particular society is a great advantage for conversing in that dialect. Especially if English is not generally spoken there.
This
means that it will be difficult to communicate with an individual when there's a
language
barrier, as
such
one
will be compelled to pick up the local dialect to carry out his or her day-to-day activities. Moreso, meeting the natives face to face to buy and sell can boost fast understanding and communication. ,
Also
daily discussions with colleagues and neighbours would help in motivating
one
to the quick grasping of the
language
. But in my ,opinion
language
can be learnt in different ways other than living in that
country
. Being that as it may, linguistics nowadays

is studied in most learning institutions. As a case in point, french is taught in my
country
in all schools, from elementary to secondary level.
Furthermore
, in tertiary institutions,
one
has the option to study any foreign
language
taught in the school and major in it without having to travel or live in that
country
. Moreso with the advent of technology which has brought about online education. A lot of people learn languages across the globe on the internet. Dedication and passion can enable
one
to be an expert speaker even though
one
has never lived there. Joining an online community of speakers is
also
of great advantage which can be done from the comfort of your home. Aside from
this
,
one
on
one
language
tutoring is beneficial. Anyone can learn through these mediums.
Lastly
, learning a
language
does not require
one
physical presence in that society to be fluent. People can learn from anywhere and anyone as long as their interests and passion are there.

Support ideas with relevant, specific examples

Examples make your writing easier to understand by illustrating points more effectively.

Examples, if used properly, not only help you get higher marks for ‘Task Response’ but also for ‘Coherence’.

When giving examples it is best to put them after your main idea or topic sentence. They can be used in the middle of supporting sentences or they can be used to start a new sentence. There is no rule for where exactly to give examples in essays, logically they would come after your main idea/topic sentence or just after a supporting sentence.

Linking words for giving examples:

  • for example
  • for instance
  • to illustrate this
  • to give a clear example
  • such as
  • namely
  • to illustrate
  • take, for example
