Some people think that national sports teams and individual men and women who represent their country should be financially supported by the government. However, others argue that they should be funded by non-government sources (e.g. Business, scholarship, etc.). Discuss both views and give your opinion.

It is claimed by some sections of the people that the national
sports
team and individual
athletes
must be supported by the
government
, whereas few others consider that they must be financially assisted by non-
government
organizations
such
as businesses,celebrities, scholarships and crowdfunding.
This
essay will discuss both points of view and argue in favour of the latter.
To begin
with, both central and state governments should invest money in constructing the infrastructure needed for various
sports
, without proper infrastructure it is impossible to produce good
athletes
. In recent years, we have seen India producing quality
athletes
on the international circuit has grown multifold, they have produced
athletes
like PV Sindu for Badminton, Pankaj Advani for Snookers,

Vedanta Madhavan for Swimming, Mary Kom for Boxing and many more. All these
athletes
were able to fetch medals and bring glory to the country because they had the facilities to train and coach them to succeed .
Secondly
, there are a lot of youths who wanted to take up
sports
as their carrier ,but due to financial constraints they are unable to purchase clothes, shoes and other kits to pursue
sports
. I feel that during
such
hard times
athletes
can get demotivated and give up the game and go on to pursue other work which can get keep their families running. During
such
cases, private organizations should recognize the talents and provide sponsorship to those, who have the potential to inspire the population.
For instance
, Neeraj Chopra from Javelin throw was
initially
backed by NGOs,once he started flourishing in national events, the
government
started backing him.
In addition
, there are many clubs owned by franchises that support various
sports
like cricket, badminton and football, these clubs identify the talents from various parts of the country through different programmes and nurture them to be future superstars. In conclusion, both
government
and non-
government
play a part in nurturing talents.
Government
can build the infrastructure, but the private organizations must sponsor at the initial stages, they can use them as brand ambassadors for their business.
