You've seen an advertisement from a couple, who live in Australia, for someone to teach their children your language for a year. In your letter, -Explain why you would be suitable for the job -say what else you could do for the family -give reasons for wanting the job.

Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing
this
letter to express my strong interest in the Mandarin tutor position listed on Indeed.com. In my previous experience, I have taught Mandarin to high school students in a private institute for the past 3 years. With my help, the students were able to develop effective study strategies, and
thus
most of them achieved high scores on their school tests.
Additionally
, aside from my language skill, I am an expert in cooking as well, which means I could teach your children to make authentic Chinese cuisine after the language lessons. Not only does my experience make me a competitive candidate, but my passion for helping students grow solid communication abilities and introducing Asian culture to them have
also
been the biggest reasons that I apply for
this
job. Thank you for your consideration. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Yours faithfully, Kelly Hsu

Use a variety of complex and simple sentences

You should use complex sentences in your writing, but it does not mean that you should try to make all of our sentences complex.

‘Complex’ sentences are not actually very complex; they are just two or more simple sentences put together. Putting them together makes the essay more coherent and cohesive.

Examples:

I really want to study but I’m too tired.

I wore a warm coat because the weather was cold.

If action is not taken soon on climate change, global warming will get worse.
