Amidst the chaos in today's world, the developing

countries

especially face unprecedented economic and financial challenges. Some individuals believe that the

first

-world

countries

should help the developing

countries

overcome these challenges, while some others believe that the developed

nations

should

first

tend to their own

people

. In

this

essay, I will amplify both these views and conclude with my opinion on the issue. The

first

world

nations

are those that are faring reasonably well, economically, socially and financially. To help

nations

that are still developing, the developed

countries

can extend financial aid and form peaceful alliances with them. They could

also

encourage trade liberation with these

countries

, to allow the industries to thrive and generate livelihood and income for their

people

Additionally

, markets in the developing

nations

are not as saturated as the ones in developed

nations

, which leaves room for businesses to extend their branches in these

nations

creating new jobs and business opportunities.

However

this

is all easier said than done. Developed

nations

have better education and medical facilities available at a very reasonable cost for their

people

, the life expectancy is high and the gap between the rich and the poor is narrow. To achieve

this

quality of life, at an affordable cost, almost all citizens of developed

nations

are tax-paying citizens. Corruption is less and it is a community effort to move forward and thrive. In a poverty-struck

nation

, corruption eats away at the opportunity for the less fortunate. No matter the financial aid provided by the rich

nations

or the business opportunities, it will be very difficult for a

nation

to put

this

to good use if the change doesn't come from their

people

Moreover

, the cost of maintaining a developed

nation

is high as well and the needs of their own

people

would always outweigh that of any other

nation

's. Conclusively, in my opinion, no matter the aid provided by the developed

countries

, reform has to come from within. Even the developed

nations

would want to invest their money in the

countries

that have the potential to thrive and that they can do business with in the future.
