Some experts believe that it is better for children to begin learning a foreign language at primary school rather than secondary school. Do the advantages of this outweigh the disadvantages?

Nowadays speaking a foreign
language
plays an important role in our daily life some specialists think that it is better for
children
to
study
another
language
at primary
school
rather than junior or senior
school
. In my opinion, I think the advantages of
this
outweigh the disadvantages. On the one hand, learning a foreign
language
at primary
school
may decrease the ability to speak the
mother
language
for
children
. The
time
in primary
school
plays an essential part in developing the abilities to speak the native
language
for kids. They need to spend lots of
time
practising their
mother
language
. So if they need to distinguish a part of their
time
to learning a foreign
language
it will reduce the chance for the kids to speak their
mother
language
.
On the other hand
, there are some advantages for
children
learning a foreign
language
in primary
school
.
Firstly
, the speed of learning a foreign
language
is faster in younger
children
, which can save lots of
time
.
Secondly
, the pressure of
study
is lower in primary
school
because the students in secondary
school
have lots of work from their teachers they do not have enough
time
to
study
a foreign
language
, which may cause a poor quality of learning. To summarize,
although
learning a foreign
language
in primary
school
may reduce the chance for students house their
mother
language
, the speed of learning a foreign
language
is faster in younger
children
and the pressure of
study
in primary
school
is much lower than in secondary
school
, which can improve the quality of learning a foreign
language
. So, in my opinion, I think the advantage of learning a foreign
language
in primary
school
outweigh the disadvantages.
