Overall, the total number of employees in the UK exhibited an upward trend. It is witnessed that men who worked full-time were the largest segment over the period, whereas the male working part-time contributed the least employing proportion. Britain males working full-time accounted for 53%(12,539,000 public) of employment in the year 1998 and had a decrease to 47%(13,749,000 public) in 2012. Women who worked part-time jobs in the UK showed the same trend, which was at 22%(5,268,000 population) at the beginning of the duration, and dropped to one-fifth(5,979,000 public) of the British employment at the end of the period.

, those who worked full-time for women was 19%(4,482,000 population) in 1988 and increased by 7%(7,696,000 people) in 2012, which reached over a quarter of Britain's hiring.
