some people believe that schools should teach foreign languages for primary school students. do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?
A number of individuals assume that international
languages
should be taught to kids in elementary schools
. The idea
would lead to some disadvantages, namely the lack of identity and the additional pressure for students
, whilst this
would cause at least two advantages which outweigh the negative sides, including the potency of being polyglot and a better chance in the future.
On the one hand, there are two disadvantages of the proposal. The first
drawback would potentially cause the students
to wonder about their basic identity of language
. By teaching another language
at an early age, they would speak in daily life with mixed language
. For instance
, several young people studying at international schools
are feeling difficult to speak the Indonesian language
formally owing to the distraction of international terms that they know. The second
negative side is the additional pressure that would be added to children's daily tasks if the educational providers set international languages
as the subjects in their institutions.
On the other hand
, the main advantages of implementing the idea
are at least two. Firstly
, it is evident that those studying at primary schools
are experiencing a golden age phase which means that the brain's humans are developing well and fastly at the time; thus
, humans could learn anything fastly rather than adult, including languages
. Together with the implementation of the idea
, the students
would be polyglots easily. Secondly
, most excellent educational institutions have set global language
ability as a requirement. If the children were not taught the languages
, they would not be eligible students
at some schools
having good quality. For example
, Khadijah Education, one of the best junior high schools
in Indonesia, only accept students
mastering basic English. Hence
, the benefits could tackle the drawbacks.
In conclusion, some people believe that primary education should teach foreign languages
to their students
. The implementation of the idea
would have negative sides, namely lacking identity and adding pressure. However
, the positives would outweigh this
by the possibility to be a polyglot and the good chance in the future.Submitted by IELTS_8 on
