The Us population is ageing. Do you Agree or Disagree

The bar chart compares the percentages of three age
groups
in the United State between 1900 and 2000. It is obvious that the Us population was ageing over the period shown since there was an increase in the percentages of all three age
groups
. In 1990, the 65-74
group
accounted for 2.9% which was near three-fold higher than the 75-84
group
and only 0,2% of the Us population was over 85. By 1950, the proportion of the blue
group
had considerably risen to 3% while the respective percentages of the red and green age
groups
had doubled to 2,2% and 0,4%. From 1950 to 2000, the number of Americans ages 75-84 doubled by 2,2% while the figures for the 65-74 and 85+
groups
leapt by roughly 3,6% and 1% respectively. By 2000, the proportions of the red and green
groups
had soared to 4,4% and 1,5% respectively while the rate for the blue
group
had gone down to 6.5% in 2000.
