You have just read an article in an inernational travel magazie which contained some information about your town that is incorrect. Write a letter to the editor of magazie. IN your letter - Correct the information in the article - Explain why it is important for the magazine to give correct information - Suggest what the magazine should do about this situation
Dear Suresh,
I am one of the frequent readers of your weekly Magazine "Travel and Time".
I am writing
this
letter to bring to your notice some information that caught my attention while reading your recently published article related to Rock Garden situated in Chandigarh.
As Chandigarh is my home town, I am very familiar with each and every place here and have always taken a keen interest in the history of its famous places. Your piece has mentioned that the Rock Garden was built by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in the very first
paragraph. However
, I am afraid this
is not the reality. The whole place was built by Mr Nek Chand and it is clearly written over the entry gates of the building as well.
Since your magazine holds a good reputation in the city, I believe it very important to update this
information so that the users are not misguided through reading the article.
Hence
, I would recommend you to look into the matter by yourself once and publish the updated version of this
article in the coming week and thereby correcting the information.
I hope this
was helpful to you.
Yours faithfully,

Structure your letter
A letter needs to be written using a proper format, including the following:
- A greeting (Dear sir/madam, Dear John, Dear Mr. Smith)
- The main body (consisting of paragraphs for each part of the letter)
- A closing (Yours sincerely, Yours faithfully, Best wishes, Kind regards, Love)
When writing a letter as part of the IELTS General Training Writing Task 1, it is important to include the bullet points presented to you in the question.
All three bullet points need to be presented. And remember that some bullet points contain more than one element. So, make sure to watch for ‘and’ and plurals.
