You found a job opportunity in a foreign country. Write a letter to your friend who knows about the country. In your letter mention the following: - What is the nature of your future job - why did you apply for that job - Ask for details and his advice about the country.

A fellow researcher at the university told me about an excavation in Athens, Greece - in which ancient relics were unearthed. Coincidentally,

applied to the family to hire me based on my professional background and my knowledge of Ancient Greece.

Having said that, as you lived for a long period in Athens, I was hoping you could provide me with some tips. Word Count

IELTS says that you should write a minimum of 150 words in writing task 1. If you go under word count you will lose marks in task response.

A very long letter will not give you a higher band score.

Aim for between 160 to 190 words in writing task 1. This will ensure a concise letter and will be realistic in terms of time management. You have only 20 minutes to write the letter and you need around 5 minutes of planning time, so you will not be able to write a long letter in 15 minutes.
