Many manufactured food and drink products contain high levels of sugar, which causes many health problems. Sugary products should be made more expensive to encourage people to consume less sugar. Do you agree or disagree?

These days
people
are given more exposure to processed meals and beverages that are high in
sugar
and eventually cost them their health.
Hence
, there are some ways recommended to solve the problem including setting the high pricing for sugary
products
to lessen the consumption of
sugar
. In
this
essay, I disagree with the statement since making the
price
expensive while the ingredient is cheap is not a wise decision and that can be done in an alternative way
such
as limiting the
sugar
content within the
products
through regulations.
First
of all, raw ingredients are one of the key factors in a product's pricing system and since
sugar
's
price
is rather stable at

low
price
, it is not wise to increase significantly the
price
of sugary
products
.
On the other hand
,
sugar
is an important ingredient that businesses usually use in terms of its benefit to make their meals tastier and more suitable to
people
's preferences.
Moreover
, other alternatives of sweeteners tend to be much more expensive than the
sugar
itself,
thus
the high
price
regulation would trigger rejections from business owners. Whilst it can be difficult to raise the cost for
people
to get
such
products
, another solution can be done through a strict regulation on
sugar
content limit. On top of that, we can not just eliminate
sugar
from
people
's life for they still need
sugar
in their daily nutrition intake as one of the energy sources.
Therefore
, foods and drinks should be made based on the constraint and most importantly meet the criterion of
people
's moderate needs of the ingredient. Another thing to be done is to socialize the issue so that the public can be more aware of
such
knowledge and limit themself from unhealthy consumption. In conclusion, the best way to control the general consumption of
sugar
hence
the public's health is not to make the
products
expensive, but to constrain the mass production itself so there will be no
products
with a high level of
sugar
that can damage
people
's physical well-being.
