Some people think it is better for children to grown up in the city, while others think that life in the countryside is more suitable for them. What are the advantages and disadvantages of both places?
Around the world, the increasing disparity between rural and urban
areas
has led people to choose where they would like to see their children
raised in future. There are many advantages and disadvantages of growing in cities
as well as in villages
. In this
essay, I will present my views on both sides of the coin.
To begin
with, parents
choose to stay in cities
to give their children
better facilities. Urban areas
have better schools, colleges, hospitals and transportation systems. The basic amenities are more easily accessible in cities
than in villages
. Additionally
, over the span of a few years, there are many malls, restaurants and amusement parks developed for entertainment. However
, growing up in villages
, children
might not be able to visit these places which will cause boredom. For instance
, children
usually feel bored when they visit their native village because they are far away to use these facilities to spend their leisure time.
On the other hand
, crime rates in urban areas
are increasing. For instance
, according to a survey conducted in India, the total number of crimes reported in villages
was less than in urban areas
in 2017. Parents
are more worried about the security of their children
especially their daughters while in villages
, parents
are less worried. In villages
, children
are more social and hence
they know other children
really well. Children
growing up in Urban areas
are less social and follow a hectic schedule. Children
might get spoiled and addicted to drugs easily in cities
while in villages
they get addicted to smoking and chewing tobacco.
To conclude, growing up in cities
and in villages
could be considered as beneficial or drawback for children
depending upon how they are raised by their parents
, how well they are educated and whether they are addicted to some bad habits.Submitted by minto.thomas2016 on
