Nowadays, people are spending more time away from their homes because they spend longer in their work place. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages.

In today's competitive and busy world, we are seeing a growing trend of people having a work-life imbalance. The workload is forcing many employees to stay back in the office for long
hours
. In
this
essay , we will discuss the merit and demerit of the same. Employees stay back at the office to complete their pending workload, most of the
time
they would require sophisticated software and tools to complete their projects on
time
. These are often not available at home and it makes sense to finish the task at a faster rate in the office
instead
of carrying the job back. Most offices have similar working
hours
, so traffic around that hour would be very high. Especially in cities like Dubai and Kaula Lumpur, people spend the most
hours
commuting, so leaving a little later will help to avoid the traffic ,while leaving an extra window to catch up on incomplete assignments. The biggest disadvantage of working late is the implication it has on work-life balance. People hardly have a moment for family, leisure or physical activity after working
hours
, which can affect their physical, emotional and mental well-being. It
also
leads to marital disharmony , when the partners are unable to find
time
for each other.Children, especially are the ones at the losing end , as they miss out on quality
time
with their parents which is so important for their overall development.
This
again can impact their job performance as it is a vicious cycle. To conclude, it is not possible to always leave work on
time
depending on our duty call. It is important to learn to juggle work and life in a way that helps overall well-being.
