, there are some ideas that suppose other ways are better to tackle

problem and I totally agree with

opinion. On the one hand, many

believe that by giving longer

sentences, the government of a country can reduce its national

crime

rate.

is because they state the approach may act as a deterrent that can discourage would-be

criminals

who want to break the law. I can sympathize with

way as a strong message to the

who are thinking about committing a

would think carefully and realize bad actions are not worth compromising.

However

way is irrational if we look at some reasons. As regards petty

which wouldn’t be sent to

in many cases, they have nothing to scare or worry about. In terms of

who have much time in

, they feel they belong in

place and love it like a home. More terrible, serious

offenders want to make a criminal network in

In other words

, I firmly believe that there are more efficient methods to reduce

crime

rates rather than increase imprisonment time like improving living standards and policies for unemployed

point, governments should have some policies like establishing many free classes for poor students and creating sustainable employment opportunities for the unemployed, which include

after finishing serving sentences.

Subsequently

, more educated

people

are more likely to get well-paid jobs, which help improve living standards and

Besides

, getting a job help ex-convicts easier to reintegrate into the community. In conclusion, getting a long
