With the increasing use of mobile phones and computers, fewer people are writing letters. Some people think that the traditional skill of writing letters will disappear completely. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Nowadays, many advanced products are emerging,
for example
, cell phones, computers, apple watches and so on. We can use these to complete many tasks. However
, some people
think that some traditional techniques will gradually disappear because no one wants to spend their time learning. As for me, I disagree that the traditional skill
of writing letters will disappear completely.
First
, new learners can increase their job opportunities to make wealth when they learn a traditional skill
. For instance
, older people
may not use electronic products, but they cannot recognise the words. So, older people
used to rely on a person who can help them to write a letter to their friends or family. On the other hand
, if no one wants to learn this
skill
, either will decrease the opportunity or people
cannot earn the money.
Second

they
will take the initiative to learn. Take my father Correct pronoun usage

for example
, after he retired because he feels bored every day, he wants to do some interesting things. One day, when he went to the traditional supermarket, he found a master was

work, so he came to that stand to talk to the master. After the communication, my father was touched, so he decided to preserve the traditional skill
, not only to kill time but also
to have a heart of enthusiasm.
In conclusion, someone will think the traditional skill
will disappear, but others think not. In my opinion, there are many advantages to that traditional skills not disappearing. It can create opportunity

The Greeting
Depending on the style and aim of the letter, you will need to adapt your greeting.
Always start an informal letter in the ways:
- Dear + name
- Hi / Hello + name
‘Dear...’ is more appropriate, so stick with this.
For a formal letter there are two options for the greeting:
- Use Dear Sir or Madam if you don’t know the name of the person you are writing to.
- Use Dear + surname if you do know their name, e.g. Dear Mr Smith or Dear Mrs Jones.
