One of the major problems that face today’s governments is creating enough satisfactory houses for their increasing populations whilst still trying to protect the environment. Discuss this statement and give your opinion.

The diagram illustrates information about the
shops
that were shut down and the ones that were opened in a period of 7 years. Overall, a lot of
shops
were opened in 2010 while there were more closures in 2015.
To begin
with, more than 8000
shops
were opened in 2011 which was the highest in all periods, in the
next
2 years, the figure dropped by more than half to 4000. From there, the number started to pick up rapidly until it reached 6000 in 2014. It ,
however
, went down again to 4000 and remained constant between 2015 and 2016. At the end of 2017, the opening rose slightly just above 4000 and dropped significantly at the end of the period under review to 3000 which was the lowest. There were few closures of
shops
at the beginning of the period, though more
shops
were closed at the end. In 2014, there was a sharp drop from above 6000 to less than 1000 which was the lowest in all years. It
then
went up in 2015 and reached more than 5000. There were 2 crossroads in 2012 and in 2015.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.
