The data illustrates the comparison between
workers
 of foreign and US birth in the United States

 year. Overall, despite the huge difference in size between the two groups, they showed quite similar patterns in almost every division, especially in the
unemployment
 rate. At
first
 glance, the immigrant male
workers
 suffered a lower
unemployment
 rate than their counterparts who were natively born in the US ( 8. 9% compares to 10. 6%).
In contrast
, interestingly, their female groups contained opposite patterns with the female workforce from the foreign-birth group with a higher rate of
unemployment
 than the USA-birth female
workers
, respectively, 11. 1% and 8. 5%. It can be seen that the figure of people who were involved in working and were US-birth is much higher at 129, 533 compared to 24, 357 of the foreign-birth group.
On the other hand
, most of the younger age groups (from 16 to 34) of the US-birth
workers
 suffered a higher than the similar age individuals in the foreign-birth workforce (from 10. 2% to 18. 7%, compared to 9. 3% to 15. 9%).
However
, the older workforce of migrants showed higher marginal
unemployment
 than natively US-birth
workers
( from 8. 9% to 9. 6% compared to 6. 4% to 7. 9%).
