the colony's park to a private builder. I came to know about
this
from today's article in your newspaper. My name is Rubina and I am a resident of The Maiden Colony. My family moved here
due to
its affordability and approximation proximity to the city. I am
also
heading the Resident's Council of the Colony. Needless to say, the presence of parks is of the utmost importance in
this
otherwise
densely populated urban area. From maintaining the ecological balance in the environment to providing people with a community area where we can exercise and spend time with our loved ones leisurely, the park has proven to be beneficial to all.

land could be sold, as a resident, I was neither informed nor consulted about it. All my neighbours say the same thing. We have petitioned the council, and I hope
this
letter reaches a wider public. Our website, SaveLafargePark.com lists a number of protest activities in which we hope your readers may join us. Too few green and tranquil public spaces remain in
this
overdeveloped city. Save Lafarge Park before it is too late. Yours sincerely, Rubina Gill
