The internet has dramatically altered ourlives over the past few decades. Although someof these changes have been negative, the overall effect of this technology has been positive. What is your opinion on this?

A highly controversial issue today relates to whether the
internet
has an impact on our lives negative or positive or not. In
this
essay, I am going to examine
this
question from a positive point of view and
then
explain why I believe that the
internet
has advantages.
First
of all, due to the
internet
, our communication techniques have been significantly improved.
For instance
, before the invention of
this
kind of technology, for sending information to our friends who lived overseas, we had to write a letter to them and it took one month or more.
This
method was extremely time-consuming.
However
, since the introduction of the
internet
, there are various communication tools
such
as Messenger, Whatsapp, Instagram and Google duo. Due to these tools, we can easily talk with our loved ones who have lived in another city or other country.
In addition
to the advantage, the benefit has been seen in the student's life.
For instance
, in old days, many students had to go to the library for finding their learning materials or writing essays. It had wasted a lot of time finding and limited to use of references. Whereas, in
this
high-tech era, the vast majority of books are available 24 hours and 365 days
.

Indeed, students can access not only a national library in their country but
also
a library in the whole of the world. In conclusion, I would argue that the positive effects of the
internet
are not comparable to the negative effects of that.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
