Some people say that advertising is extremely successful at persuading us to buy things. Other people think that advertising is so common that we no longer pay attention to it. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

While some crowds believe that promoting
advertisements
is an excellent way to persuade
people
to purchase things, others argue that
this
method is not effective due to the fact that
individuals
never notice those
advertisements
. As far as I am concerned,I think advertising is helpful to persuade potential customers to buy
products
. Some
people
state that
individuals
ignore advertisement because it is annoying. In order to let a large proportion of
people
notice
advertisements
, companies usually force
people
to see them
although
they do not want. Take, YouTube,
for example
. Before videos start, users have to watch
advertisements
because
this
is one of the ways that YouTubers can earn money from their channels.
However
, most
people
will skip the advertisement in five seconds due to the fact that no one wants to waste their time watching the commercials.
As a result
, it is an unsuccessful method to urge
people
to buy things as they think it is annoying. Meanwhile, some
people
besides
me agree that advertising is an ideal and persuasive way to urge
people
to buy
products
because it can trigger more potential customers. When
individuals
watch the same advertisement a couple of times, they will vividly remember the names of brands and
products
.If consumers are in need, they will choose the brands they heard of before rather than other ones.
For instance
, in Taiwan, Uber Eats, which is an online delivery platform, not only promotes a large
amount
Change the quantifier
number
show examples
of displays but
also
uses brainwashing lines to impress customers. And now, Uber Eats gets more downloads than Foodpanda, which is its rival.
Consequently
, it is useful to advertise
products
or services because the public will memorize them
although
individuals
do not use them immediately. In consequence, some
people
think that it is not helpful to promote
advertisements
due to the fact that
people
never pay attention to them, whereas others including me argue that
advertisements
can persuade
people
to buy things as we would like to choose the familiar brands if we are in need.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
