Successful companies use advertising to make more sales. What can make an advertisement effective? Do you think advertisement is a bad thing or a good thing for the society.

It is a fact that in recent
society
consumers are getting bombarded with
advertisements
.
This
phenomenon has created a debate on whether
advertisements
have a positive or negative impact on
society
and its members. In
this
essay, arguments of both sides will be presented, attributes of an effective advertisement will be analyzed and

I am going to express my personal opinion on the subject, which is that
advertisements
can be harmful to
society
.
Firstly
, an effective advertisement should draw the attention of the audience from start to the finish. That means that they should have bright colours and be short in duration.
For example
, a short and colourful video is more likely to catch the eye of viewers and maintain their focus. To illustrate
this
point
further
, many major companies around the world use these methods in their advertisement campaigns with great success. But the results of
advertisements
on
society
are highly debatable. My personal view is that
advertisements
should be criticized and considered hazardous to
society
. Unarguably, nowadays the trend has been created where humans buy things they do not really need, influenced by their joyful ads.
This
trend can be clearly seen in most countries of the western world where over-consumerism is facing a rapid increase.
In addition
, young children are more sensitive to the influence of
advertisements
since their critical thinking has not been fully developed yet.
This
can be a real problem for the future
society
since these kids will grow to be the next adults of
society
and have unhealthy consuming habits. After thoroughly examining the arguments of both sides, it is obvious that
advertisements
are a danger to modern
society
. They have a serious impact on adults and children and they are the main reason for buying things they do not actually need.
This
problem is serious and must not be neglected. In ,contrast governments should take more legislative measures to control and minimize advertising campaigns.
