Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to inform you that I have lost my passport.I suppose anyone took it when I was at the airport.
My name is Malik.I am 27 years old.I am living in the vicinity of the city centre in Sumgait.
Although
I am living in Azerbaijan,I am originally from Canada.
One of my friends was going to a foreign country hence
.I decided to follow him to the airport as well as
I helped him to carry his load.Unfortunately, while
I was waiting in the queue,I realized that my wallet was stolen suddenly.I do not care about anything that was inside the wallet apart from my passport.
I would be extremely grateful if you could give me information to know what I have to do in order to get my passport back.Where and to whom I must request?
Please if you require any further
information do not hesitate to contact me.
Yours faithfully
Malik Maliki.Submitted by malikli.malik1995 on

The Greeting
Depending on the style and aim of the letter, you will need to adapt your greeting.
Always start an informal letter in the ways:
- Dear + name
- Hi / Hello + name
‘Dear...’ is more appropriate, so stick with this.
For a formal letter there are two options for the greeting:
- Use Dear Sir or Madam if you don’t know the name of the person you are writing to.
- Use Dear + surname if you do know their name, e.g. Dear Mr Smith or Dear Mrs Jones.
