The chart below shows the proportions of the world’s oil resources held in different areas, together with the proportions consumed annually in the same areas. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The chart illustrates the geographical distribution of
fuel
in different areas of the world and its consumption in those areas in proportions.
Looking from an overall
perspective, it is readily apparent that the majority of fuel
is based in the Middle East even though their usage is within the lower range. In contrast
, Asia which contributes less as a resource area is the most pronounced consumer of fuel
.Australia and New Zealand almost lack oil as a resource.
The most striking feature in this
chart is that 56.52% of the fuel
is concentrated in the Middle East area whereas
Western Europe, the USA, and Asia contribute nearly 5% altogether to the total.Canada is the second in the list of contributors to the resource of oil , retaining only 14.84%.
With regard to consumption, Asia uses 26.21% of annual production, being almost similar to the USA which has 25.48% of usage. Other than Western Europe which has 19.24% of consumption, other countries keep their percentage below 10%.Submitted by g.s.subasinghe on
