Some people think that using mobile phones and computers has a negative effect on young people’s reading and writing skills. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
It is argued that mobile
phones
and computers influence youngsters negatively when it comes to reading and writing abilities. Whilst some people are worried that electric gadgets drop young people’s attention, which results in difficulties when they read or write, I firmly believe that they give the young more opportunities to enhance their reading and writing skills.
To begin
with, mobile phones
and computers make it easy for young people to access a number of reading materials. For instance
, while
we had to buy newspapers or go to the library to read books in the past, we are easily able to gain knowledge through tiny mobile phones
. In this
regard, thanks to this
accessibility, these cutting-edge electronics encourage the young to read diverse topics when they are interested in them.
On top of that, youngsters express their thoughts through the internet. In the past, in order to write essays, what we needed to do was to sit at our desks. However
, we can write down something in our heads with our cellphones or desktops wherever we are. This
makes young people regard reading and writing as easier activities than before. For example
, minors not only use blogs or social media platforms to appeal to their opinions but also
share their thoughts with other users through their handy gadgets.
In conclusion, in spite of concerns about the reading and writing abilities of adolesces, they are fostering their skills with mobile phones
and computers. From this
perspective, it seems clear that these technologies flourish youngsters’ reading and writing skills rather affect negatively.Submitted by cycy1313 on
