Some people think that all university students sould study whatever they like. Others believe that they shoyld only be allowed to study subjects that will be useful in the future, such as those related to science and technology.
There are some disagreements about which curriculum should be taught by universities. Some people believe it is better for
students
to be forced into certain subject areas. Some others, including me, believe that students
should be able to study the course of their choice.
To begin
with, requiring certain subjects
such
as science and technology to be part of the university
curriculum could be advantageous for students
in the future
, because those subjects
may provide more job opportunities, career progression, and better salaries. As a result
, students
may experience improved economic outcomes. Nonetheless
, on the societal level, by forcing students
to choose particular university
subjects
, society may experience some gaps in other subjects
, like art, history, and language, which can have some negative effects on the economy.
On the other hand
, students
should be free to choose university
subjects
, which may make them passionate about what they are learning. As a consequence
, society may benefit more, as those passionate students
can make a significant contribution to society by using their talents, skills, and enthusiasm to make positive changes in their communities. In addition
, nobody can really predict which subjects
will be more useful in the future
because there are many factors that can contribute to defining a subject as effective in the future
, like demand and population growth.
In conclusion, I believe that it is wise to give students
a choice to select their university
subjects
instead
of forcing them to study definite subjects
. Because this
can increase their passion, and also
their favourite subjects
may be more effective in the future
than the compulsory subjects
