Dear Mr Ching,
I am writing to you regarding the starting day of my job. I should be starting my work in your company on the 3rd of July,
however
, I am sorry for telling you that I could not start my duty as scheduled due to
unforeseen circumstances.
My mother fell in the bathroom on the 10th of June and her right wrist and hip were fractured. She is now staying in the Hong Kong Hospital and will be discharged next Monday. According to
the doctor's and therapist's assessment, she requires 1 assistance in doing all daily functional tasks, ranging from toileting and bathing to walking. It may take her 2 to 3 months to be fully recovered. Therefore
, I may need to take care of her after she discharges from the hospital.
I have hired a full-time caregiver to look after my mum but her earliest reporting date is the 10th of July, therefore
I could not start my new job on the 3rd of July as scheduled and my earliest reporting day is the the
11th of July. I hope you can understand the circumstance and please accept my apologies once again.
Yours sincerely,
Tammy LeeRemove the redundancy
