Write a letter to an English-speaking friend. In your letter: 1). Explain why you have moved. 2). Describe the new house. 3). Invite your friend to come visit.

Dear Rosy, I hope you are doing just great. I am writing
this
letter to let you know that we have moved to a new apartment. If you remember, I have always mentioned that the distance from our home to the children's school was challenging as it affected our work time. We have been making efforts to relocate for the past six months without success and just a fortnight ago, an estate agent mailed my husband informing him of
this
accommodation. We went to inspect it after work the same day and to our amazement, it checked all boxes on our expectation list for a new apartment. I am just very happy and must confess the wait was worth it.
This
new home solved our distance problem and has other features which make it stand out for us.
Such
features include a very modern kitchen much better than what we previously had, a beautiful garden which I have longed for, where we can spend quality family time outdoors; a study room large enough to accommodate the volume of books we have and impressive room sizes! I will really love it if you will come and check it out as soon as it is convenient for you. You can call me on 07065327865 once you decide to visit so I can adjust my schedule to prepare for your visit in a very special way to make it a fun-filled and memorable one. The new address is: House 5 Jumis Estate, Apapa. I hope to hear from you soon. Warm regards, Angela

Word Count

IELTS says that you should write a minimum of 150 words in writing task 1. If you go under word count you will lose marks in task response.

A very long letter will not give you a higher band score.

Aim for between 160 to 190 words in writing task 1. This will ensure a concise letter and will be realistic in terms of time management. You have only 20 minutes to write the letter and you need around 5 minutes of planning time, so you will not be able to write a long letter in 15 minutes.
