Overall
, it is evident that Britain exported more than half of its total export value in the form of vehicles and pharmaceutical products. The US was the primary source of its overseas trade income, and outbound trade to all countries showed an upward trend, particularly to Germany and the Netherlands.
According to
the pie graph, around a third (34%) of the total exports went towards vehicles, a quarter (25%) was for pharmaceuticals, and a fifth (20%) belonged to gems and precious minerals, while
aircraft and electronics accounted for approximately 10% each.
Looking in more detail at purchasers by country, the US imported the highest amount of British products, with an average of 31-32 million pounds per year. The figures for Germany and the Netherlands presented a significant growth by almost 35% and doubled numbers, respectively, whereas
