You have recently been on a vacation in a foreign country and stayed at a home-stay, you have realised that you have misplaced an expensive wristwatch and cannot find it. Write a letter to the family you stayed with. In your letter: Give details of your stay Describe your wristwatch If found how they could return it to you.

Dear Rosy, I hope
this
meets you well and that every member of your lovely family is doing just great. It is with a grateful heart that I write
this
letter. Thank you so much for being
such
an awesome host, you made my two-week vacation memorable in every sense, I do not take your benevolence for granted, may our good Lord bless you real good.
This
letter is serving a dual purpose, first is to let you know that I arrived home yesterday night safely and
second,
to inform you of my gold Gucci wristwatch which I misplaced. I noticed the wristwatch was missing when I was done unpacking and arranging my luggage in my house. I had thought about the likely place where I must have left it and I think it should be in the children's room. If you could remember, Cindy lured me into promising them that I would play chess with them before leaving and as I got almost dressed up to leave, she reminded me of the game I was to play. I had her move my big travel bag and my jewellery box to their room so I could quickly wear them, play chess and leave within a short time. She displayed my pieces of jewellery on their dressing table in admiration, I wore the ones I needed and asked her to put the rest in the box, so it is most likely she omitted the gold Gucci wristwatch as she packed them. Do kindly help me do a thorough search in the children's room and if you can find it, please call Kehinde on 07065312798, he is my colleague's brother whom I talked about, who lives in your neighbourhood. I have already left him a message on how to send it to me. Thank you and I hope to hear from you soon. Warm regards, Onyi

Word Count

IELTS says that you should write a minimum of 150 words in writing task 1. If you go under word count you will lose marks in task response.

A very long letter will not give you a higher band score.

Aim for between 160 to 190 words in writing task 1. This will ensure a concise letter and will be realistic in terms of time management. You have only 20 minutes to write the letter and you need around 5 minutes of planning time, so you will not be able to write a long letter in 15 minutes.
