The bar chart below shows the average duration of housework women did (unemployed, part-time employed, and full-time) when compared to men who had full-time work in the Peru between 1985 and 2005. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
In Peru between the period of 1985 to 2005, the presented graph gives information on the period spent by males working fully compared to three categories of females (full-time, part-time, jobless) on the number of hours spent doing household chores. Generally speaking , it is clearly seen that more women were engaged in housework regardless of their employment status
while
men seem to do less at home.
A glance at the graph, in the years 1985 and 1995, similar data were recorded. The highest number of hours given was 6.5 to 7 followed by 5 , 2 and 1 by females who are unemployed , half-time workers, no work and employed men respectively. In 2005, there is no significant change in the ranking but the numbers were notably higher by 1 hour in all categories.
To summarize, women basically are the ones doing the menial chores at home, ranging from 2 to 7 hours a day while
men had a minimal amount of spare time to do housekeeping.Submitted by lynmarq15 on
