the line chart below compares the

closures and openings in a country over a period of eight years.
it is clear that
both of the trends of the numbers of
shop
closures and openings were downward with the obvious/marked fluctuation among the period shown. And there was a sharp fall/drop in 2015 in the
number
of closed stores. As regarded as the
first,
the
number
of the opened store was higher than the closed shops, with the figures close to 8500,
while
the latter was at approximately 6500. After that, the closed store amount experienced a sudden decline to 4000 in 2012,which was nearly twice as low as before.
However
, in the following two years, it went up steadily to 6000. At the same time, the figure for
shop
openings fluctuated slightly between 6000 and 7000 from 2011 to 2014. In 2015, the
number
of closed shops saw a considerable fall to almost under 1000, followed by a huge increase one year later. Between 2015 and 2018, the opened
shop
amounts remained relatively stable, at about 4000, but fell to 3000 by 2018.
Likewise
, in the
last
three years, the figure for
shop
closures levelled off at 5000.
