Nowadays technology is increasingly being used to monitor what people are saying and doing (for example, through cellphone tracking and security cameras). In many cases, the people being monitored are unaware that this is happening.

It is common today that with the advancements in technology, governments tend to monitor people’s daily behaviour by different methods
such
as security cameras.
However
, most individuals are unaware of the fact that they are being monitored. In fact, most of them get stressed by the idea that they are being watched since they prefer to keep their life private.
Although
recordings can be hacked and used for fraud
such
as cases in which a hacker uses the saved
data
to get a credit card number.   On the one hand, the main objective of monitoring
devices
is to protect the public. In the case of crimes, monitoring
devices
will be of great assistance to the police so they can catch criminals quickly.
For example
, new GPS
devices
that are programmed to specify the location of stolen cars can save a lot of time and harm. The process of monitoring help to decrease the crime rates and promotes justice in society by providing the sheer truth. Even though many people might want their lives to be confidential, many would rather have safety than privacy.
On the other hand
, the disadvantage of monitoring individuals without their approval is
data
privacy.
This
can be harmful because in some cases, people have sensitive
data
on their mobile phones.
For instance
, major mobile companies are forced by the government to put tracking software on their
devices
.
This
enables them to easily spy on anyone.
Although
the software is only for the authorities, hackers usually find creative ways to access them.
This
leads to the hacking of all sensitive
data
.
In addition
, there are strict rules governing
data
privacy, which is often neglected by the government.     In ,conclusion
it is clear that
monitoring is a double-edged sword because it has good sides
such
as security and safety but on the other side of the coin it has a bad side like the government can track you and know all about you and about your private information.
