, it is observed that in both years, oil was the major source of energy and hydropower the least.

, Oil recorded the highest proportion in 1983 with a figure of 43% but declined by 7% to 38 in 2003. There was a 4 per cent rise in Nuclear power which was 20% in 1983 to 24% in 2003. A similar trend was noticed in coal which had a significant increase of 10% from 11 to 21% by 2003. It was

observed that
while
some did exceedingly well, there was neither a reduction nor addition in hydropower as it remained at 4% from 1983 to 2004 making it the least source of energy , there was a significant drop in coal from 23 per cent to 13 per cent in 2003.
