Nowadays many countries are faced with soaring levels of childhood obesity which if left unchecked, will lead to serious health problems in the future population of these countries. This problem can be explained by changes in our lifestyle and diet and it is important that we along with the government try and address these changes.
It is argued that governments should levy a tariff on junk food because the number of health risks associated with consuming this kind of food is on the rise. This essay agrees that a higher rate of tax should be paid by fast-food companies. Firstly, alcohol and tobacco companies already pay higher taxes and secondly, higher taxes could raise prices and lower consumption.
Whether publicizing scientific, business and academic information or findings is beneficial or not has sparked considerable controversy. While some assume that sharing this information would interrupt the ongoing process, I, along with others, believe that it is best to make them as transparent as possible due to the reasons this essay further elaborates on.
The fourth industrial revolution has caused detrimental effects on the environment. Several accusations have been pointed at governments by climate activists while others associated these negative consequences with community behaviour. Since this argument remains a bone of contention, this essay will discuss both perspectives and reasons viewed by each party.
The arts are both a window into a culture's history and an expression of the unique personalities of the citizens of a country. Some people argue that a nation has more important issues to deal with before it can devote resources to the arts. It seems reasonable to me, however, I believe that government funding for the arts is essential and should be maintained.
