The given pie chart gives information on the proportion of 5 major sources which generate
electricity
in the US between 1980 and 1990.
Overall
, it is clear that
the most electricity
was generated from oil throughout the period. When it comes to the percentages of electricity
produced from natural gas and coal showed reversed trends.
Looking at the pie chart in detail, the figure
for oil accounted for the largest size at 42% and 33% respectively from 1980 to 1990 despite its slight decrease. Natural gas generated 26% of electricity
which is the second largest in 1980 but it declined from 26% to 25%. Conversely
, the figure
for coal showed an upward trend. It comprised 22% which is the third biggest slice in 1980, and it went up by 5% to 27% which exceeded the figure
for natural gas in 1990.
With regards to nuclear power, the figure
for it rose from 5% to 10% from 1980 to 1990 while
its volume is negligible. Also
